Powder Preparation and Sintering Characteristics of Calcium-Doped Lanthanum Chromite
La0.65Ca0.35CrO3 powder was prepared using the modified Pechini process. Various crystalline phases formed during thermal decomposition were investigated. During the decomposition of the organic precursor La(Ca)CrO4 phase was formed first but transformed to La(Ca)CrO3 and CaCrO4 above $700^{circ}C$ which were remained up to 110$0^{circ}C$ However only La(Ca)CrO3 Phase consisting of room-temperature stable orthorhombic and intermediate rhombohedral polymorphs was observed after sintering at 125$0^{circ}C$ The chemically prepared powder which was ball-milled after calcination showed a bimodal size distribution with average particle size of 2${mu}{textrm}{m}$m and 94% of theoretical density. Dense ceramic tapes having uniform microstructure and fine grain size were obtained after nonaqueous tape casting and subsequent sintering at 140$0^{circ}C$
