|
Y2O3 doped ZrO2 bulk ceramics were prepared by the sol-gel method and homogeneous Y2O3-ZrO2 system of sol using (CH3)2CHOH, Ch3COCH2COCH3, HNO3 and H2O of 5, 0.5, 0.3 and 3 in molar ratio to Zr(O-nC3H7)4 respectively. The ZrO2 ceramics after heat treatment at 80$0^{circ}C$ for 10 hours with 0.5$^{circ}C$/min of heating rate was transparent and 3 mol% Y2O3 added ZrO2 ceramics after heat treatment at 80$0^{circ}C$ for 10 hours was pure tetragonal and its fracture toughness was 13.6 Mm-3/2 |
