The Synthesis and Dielectric Properties of BaO.Sm$_2$O$_3$.xTiO$_2$(x=3,4,5) Microwave Dielectrics
ABSTRACT
The BaO.Sm2O3.xTiO2(x=3,4,5) ceramics among the BaO.Ln2O3.xTiO2(Ln=Nd, Sm,. La, Pr) microwave dielectrics was synthesized by a solid state reaction sintered at 126$0^{circ}C$ to 134$0^{circ}C$ for 2h and then tested their crystalline phases and dielectric properties. In BaO.Sm2O3.3TiO2 Sm2Ti2O7 main phase Ba37.5Sm7.5Til8O54 and BaO-TiO2 phases were present and the unreacted TiO2 remained In BaO.Sm2O3.4TiO2 Ba37.5Sm7.5Til8O54 and Ba2Ti9O20 final phases were produced through the Sm2Ti2O7 second phase and also in x=5 composition the unreacted TiO2 existed. Dielectric properties have good values in dense BaO.Sm2O3.xTiO2(x=4, 5) ceramics sintered at 132$0^{circ}C$ and their properties are better in x=5 than x=4
